Intro
We design brands as systems. Identity becomes design tokens, type becomes a scale the CSS uses, and the website launch is the first full showing of the brand.
Roboto Studio is a boutique studio that builds websites, web apps, ecommerce and agentic infrastructure on Sanity, Contentful, Next.js and Shopify. Most of our clients are SaaS companies. You'll shape their identities from brand direction through to the wireframes for the sites we build, and you'll own Roboto's own design system and marketing assets.
It's digital-first, with no print ever. Your work ships to live sites, so it has to hold up in code.
What you'll do
- Build SaaS brand identities end to end with our team and the client's
- Define the system: typography, colour, imagery, iconography, patterns and graphic devices
- Turn it into design tokens and Figma libraries our developers use directly
- Carry brand into marketing-site wireframes and work with our devs until they ship
- Make launch assets for web, social, presentations and marketing
- Design the case studies and mockups that show the work properly
What we're looking for
- Taste, pace and care for craft. Think type-driven work in the Linear, Stripe or Vercel mould
- A digital portfolio with brand systems in it, not just logos. SaaS or tech is ideal. We screen on the work, not on years or titles
- Expert-level Figma, and comfort with design systems and tokens
- Pragmatism: the design has to turn into code and ship on time
- Clear written communication. We're fully remote and spread across the world
We're a small team where everyone owns their work, so there's no hand-holding and nowhere to hide. You'll QA your own output, catch your own details, and ship brand work you can stand behind without someone checking in over your shoulder. Your work speaks for itself, and there's real room to make a name for yourself.

Compensation and terms
- Full-time contractor, paid monthly in USD via Wise
- 3-month paid trial, then permanent if the fit is mutual (see below)
- Fully remote. The team is in Austin (US Central), and we want hours as close to US Central as possible, but we're flexible

The nature of your contract
We believe in finding only the very best fit for our business. We are an incredibly tight-knit, agile team, and because of this every member must either be at the 'top of their game', or be willing to put in the blood sweat and tears it takes to achieve that.
Therefore, we want to ensure you're the right fit for us, and we're the right fit for you. We offer a 3-month fixed-contract period and paid work trials that allow candidates to engage in real projects that reflect our startup environment. This method tests the skills and attributes that matter in our fast-moving setting but also ensures a mutual fit for both parties involved.
At the end of the 3-month contract, if you feel you would like to continue with our team and the feeling is mutual, we can offer a permanent position for this role.
