Hey, how's it going? So in this video, I'm going to show you how to build pages faster with Sanity MCP in Claude. So you can do it two ways. You can either do it from the chat view that I'm on currently or you can also do it from projects. So I'll show you what to do first. You go here and you make sure you add your project. Do not forget this step, otherwise Claude will be completely clueless and would not have the context. It's pretty obvious, but a lot of people forget this.
Anyway, the second step is to go to connectors. Since we're using Sanity MCP, make sure Sanity is selected. After this, you go to projects. This is a very important part as well. You select your project. I'm using Turbo Sanity. I've already created my project. But this is the important bit. You need to make sure you have added your project ID and your organization ID. Again, if you don't do this, then you're not providing enough context to Claude. You can simply find this information from Sanity's admin panel and copy paste it from here.
Anyway, going back to Claude, we go to the chat. And for this video, we're going to create a services page for a bottle. And I'm going to provide a prompt that I will paste in the description below. And I'm also quite lazy, so I'm not going to type it. So here we go.
So I don't know if you noticed it. I have added a special instruction for Claude. I would like my cards to be displayed in threes and sixes, not in fours and fives, because that's how it looks balanced in my particular case. Also, I need to double check that I've added my... okay, so did you see that? I thought I added my project, but I didn't. So make sure you've added your project here. Otherwise Claude would just go ahead and create without any context.
Anyway, let's do this. This is going to take some time. While it's doing it, it's very important to know that with current Sanity MCP, we cannot add images. So this is one of the limitations and I'm sure the Sanity team is working towards it. But for images, you have to do it manually. But this is great for adding content and it's so fast. You will see in a second. And especially when you have hundreds and thousands of pages just to add the content out there, it's huge.
Okay, so moment of truth. I can see Sanity MCP is using the pre-existing page builder blogs to make decisions. Bear in mind I've not provided any copy for the page. I have not given any strict information and also TurboArt Sanity website is a very small website with, I would guess, five page builders in existence. So obviously it will be different for your use case. You can use it for a large website and if you have twenty page builders available, MCP can take a lot more context and a lot more page builders to play around with.
So we can check out the page now and see how it looks. Okay, so we are in presentation view. What I like to do is I like to go to structure view and I like to just make sure that everything is in the right place. Services, I can see here. There we go. URL looks great. Oh, interesting. Three page builder blocks are here. This is decided by Sanity MCP. I have not given any instruction here. So let's see how the page looks like. Wow, this is really cool. The fact that it picked the correct logo side icon is very impressive as well.
To recap, I have not provided any copy for this page. I have given a very vague piece of prompt saying I would like to create a services page for a robot studio, and this is the result. So Sanity MCP, as you can see, is pretty good at predicting and implementing page builder blocks for a page, and this will be a completely different use case for your own company. This is a very small website, but for a small website this looks really impressive and I can only imagine what would be the case for a large website.
So anyway, thank you so much for watching. Have a good one.
